Hereeee we go again!
Will the far left ever quit on their attempt to bring down a duly elected president?
New reports reveal that the Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is planning to launch multiple probes into the Trump adminstration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A spokesperson confirmed that at least 5 different inquiries are on the table and likely to move forward.
These investigations will look into "HHS’s planning and response of the COVID-19 outbreak."
These probes are being launched to yet another anonymous whistleblower.
It is currently unclear with what authority or evidence the whistleblower is making these claims.
More details on the developing story below:
Numerous members of the administration, including Dr. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, have already come forward and addressed the botched testing fiasco during the beginning of the crisis.
Still, the transparent explanations don't appear to be enough for radical leftists wanting to remove a duly elected president from office.
The Washington Examiner has more on the pending investigations:
The Health and Human Services Department's watchdog will investigate the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak.
A spokesperson for the HHS inspector general told the Washington Examiner that investigators will carry out at least five reviews “related to HHS’s planning and response of the COVID-19 outbreak.” The inquiries will scrutinize issues such as nationwide hospital responses, quarantine procedures, the training and protective gear provided to front-line health workers, nursing home standards amid a disease with an exponentially more deadly effect on the elderly and the already ill, and the ability to care for illegal border crossers and refugees during a public health crisis.
The HHS watchdog will also draw up recommendations for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
The investigative effort will be spearheaded by Christi Grimm, the principal deputy inspector general who leads HHS’s watchdog office. The office compromises 1,600 auditors, investigators, lawyers overseeing dozens of programs run by agencies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Administration for Children and Families, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health — all of which have played a role in the government’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak that has rattled the U.S. health system.
It appears that if the anonymous whistleblower didn't file a complaint, some of these investigations would not be on the table.
While there is no evidence that the complaint is politically motivated, many voters are beginning to become wary of anonymous sources.
The list of pending investigations can be viewed on the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website, which also states:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) plays a lead role in preparing for and responding to public health emergencies. The current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic highlights the need for HHS to efficiently and effectively respond to protect the nation. OIG will evaluate how HHS staff were deployed, trained, and protected when assigned tasks that could entail potential exposure to COVID-19, such as work at quarantine sites and at ports of entry. We will analyze steps taken to protect HHS staff and, in turn, the public, during pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment. We will also review the extent to which HHS has established mechanisms to identify and correct any vulnerabilities in deployment protocols. We plan to issue multiple work products reporting findings for the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Department overall.
Last month, an HHS whistleblower also claimed that the first healthcare workers evaluating Americans coming back from Wuhan, China did not have appropriate training.
As recently as last Friday, HHS Secretary Alex Azar has defending the agency's work in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Trump administration has been extremely transparent in its COVID-19 response.
Contrast this to China, who tried to suppress information about the virus for weeks.
While we do not know the whistleblower's name, we do know that he is currently seeking assistance from Democrat politicians.
As the whistleblower sought protection from Democrat Representative Jimmy Gomez from California, Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass) publically called for Secretary Azar to resign.
Politico confirms the whistleblower's engagement with Gomez:
The whistleblower is seeking assistance from Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.), who during a Thursday House Ways and Means Committee hearing pressed Azar over whether untrained workers were sent to aid the coronavirus response.
Azar testified that he did not believe any protocols had been broken and that he was “not aware of any violation of quarantine or isolation protocols.”
In a staff-wide email last Friday obtained by POLITICO, a senior official in the HHS children and families office — where the whistleblower worked — announced that "field operations mission support to the Wuhan travelers has concluded" and praised the "organizational skills, administrative support and troubleshooting expertise of ACF staff."
"Again, thank you for trusting us with your most precious commodities — your personnel and your time — in supporting the Department's mission of bringing our fellow Americans home," the email concluded.
There is always room for improvement in any government response.
It is undisputable that the Trump administration acted quickly and decisively to protect Americans, beginning with the travel restrictions on China.
Investigations that help our systems become more efficient are more than welcome, but political investigations should never be tolerated.
We will keep a close eye on how these investigations unfold.
