Quebec Under Strict 10pm Curfew as Police Patrol the Streets; Will Canadians Rise Up?

Published

on

The streets of Montreal, Quebec, Canada imitate a dystopian hellscape as a strict curfew has returned to the province.

Police have started going around on speakers ordering people into their homes after 10pm or face severe fines between $1,000 and $6,000.

Footage will make you think this is China or North Korea and not our northerly neighbors.

Protestors against the curfew face being arrested in addition to the substantial fine.

According to COVID-19 Tracker Canada, 77.72% of all Quebec residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 84.87% of residents have received at least one dose.

Despite the high COVID-19 inoculation rate, Quebec has entered another tyrannical lockdown and curfew order.

The Quebec government has even forbidden its residents from walking their dogs during curfew hours.

Radio-Canada commented:

Two days after the entry into force of the new curfew, which does not include, this time, an exemption to walk your dog between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., the Quebec government intends to “re-include” this provision ” as soon as possible “.

According to the prior list of exemptions that was posted on the government website, before the official entry of curfew, on Friday December 31 at 5 p.m., it was still allowed to go outside after curfew. fire, to allow Fido or Médor to relieve themselves, all within a radius of one kilometer from their home.

On Saturday, however, that exemption no longer appeared on the same website.

CTV News reported:

The Quebec government will reintroduce a curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. starting Dec. 31 as the province battles an explosive rise of COVID-19 infections driven by the Omicron variant.

“I know we’re all tired, but it’s my responsibility to protect (Quebecers),” said Legault. “(Experts) agree that, in the coming weeks, there is a risk that the number of hospitalizations will exceed our capacity, which would eventually lead us to no longer being able to treat everyone,” said Premier Francois Legault.

He made the announcement at a Thursday evening press conference, where he was joined by Health Minister Christian Dube and Public Health Director Dr. Horacio Arruda.

People who violate the curfew are subject to fines ranging from $1,000 to $6,000.

“The gesture is extreme because the situation is extreme,” the premier added.

Quebecers are also no longer allowed to host private gatherings beyond their household bubble, with the exception of caregivers. Single people, including those with children, can join another family bubble.

Places of worship are also closing, except for funerals of up to 25 people. Restaurant dining rooms must close, and stores will be shut on Sundays for the next three weeks, except for depanneurs, gas stations, and pharmacies.

It’s long past time for Quebecers to defy the authoritarian tyrants and rise up against this madness. Predictably, the high COVID-19 inoculation rate hasn’t prevented a massive skyrocketing of cases during the frigid winter months.

Some have called for civil disobedience to defy the Orwellian curfew.

The Post Millennial added:

Dr. Jordan Peterson is calling for Montrealers to resist curfew restrictions that are once again being implemented in Quebec, as cases of the mild Omicron variant continue to skyrocket in the province.

“The cure is far worse than the disease,” wrote Peterson in a Twitter thread posted on Friday, the day that the province is set to impose the measure on its highly vaccinated populace. “Unbelievable. Time for civil disobedience.”

The province’s premier Francois Legault announced on Thursday that a curfew would be implemented on Friday, starting at 10 pm and ending at 5 am. No end date was given, though the premier assured it would be the first restriction removed once the situation “stabilizes.”

A similar curfew was implemented in Quebec this past January, and lasted until May. Thousands were ticketed and fined for leaving their homes, with the province raking in over $28 million in revenue from tickets. The province went so far as to ticket the homeless, with Legault saying that non-homeless people would pretend to be homeless to avoid tickets.

Quebecers must realize you never comply your way out of tyranny. Massive resistance, non-compliance, and flat-out rebellion are the only options to end this dystopian nightmare.

It’s now or never!
